Manner Code
- Respect
for our place of training (Do Jang). ( Bow on entering and bow on leaving).
- Respect
for senior rank. Always bow to senior rank first and senior rank is then to return the
bow.
- Respect
for Instructor (Sabonim). Always bow to Instructor before any conversation begins and when
conversation ends.
- Formal
bow. When in uniform (Do Bok), a bow must be performed at attention. Out of uniform, an
informal bow is appropriate, this may be just a nod of the head.
- A
student must display courtesy to all other ranks at all times.
- A
student must set a good example to all others, inside or outside the club at all times.
- Fighting
outside our place of training, unless in a self defense situation, will not be tolerated.
Any student that does so will lose his/her rank and be dismissed from our Club.
- Swearing
in our place of training will result in instant loss of rank.
- Lack
of self control during training will result in instant loss of rank.
- Senior
ranks are responsible for the behaviour of our junior members. It is through their example
that the standard of manner is set. I hold senior ranks entirely responsible for the
behaviour of the juniors.
- Respect
for your uniform (Do Bok). Your uniform should always be clean and complete with badges
and belt tied correctly.
- If
you are late for class, stand at attention at the side of the hall, wait till the
Instructor bows to you, return the bow and join the class at the back of the hall.
- Should
you need to break from class during training, bow to the Instructor and when the
Instructor returns your bow, you may leave class.
- Our
manner code is specifically designed to make our training safe, disciplined and to improve
our attitude to ourselves and our fellow peers.
- No
person is beyond our manner code. Any person that breaks our rules must be prepared to be
dismissed from our Club.
